Daljit is a practitioner of law with over three decades of diverse legal experience, is a former adjunct professor of law, has received a Master of Laws from the University of Ottawa, along with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi. He also holds post-graduate specialized diplomas in Labour Laws, International Law, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, and the Law of International Institutions. He is member of good standing with Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association.
Daljit is the founding director of Cooking Up Community Services, a not-for-profit organization which held two very successful annual fundraising events. They first began in 2017 for Montfort Hospital Foundation to purchase CT Scanner with a specialized cardiac module, and then in 2018 for United Way Ottawa for project STEP to assist the youth struggling in our schools with mental addiction. He is also life patron of University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation for clinical research.
Daljit volunteers his time as a board member of Ottawa Community Immigrant Service Organization, has also served as a member of the Resource Development committee and advisory member of Bridging communities at the United Way Ottawa. He is also advisor to numerous charitable and not-for-profit organizations in Ottawa. He provides seminars on various fundamental legal issues and does pro-bono work at various multi-faith religious and senior organizations across Ottawa. Recently he has been appointed as community member to Ottawa Police Services Board.
Daljit immigrated from New Delhi, India in 2000 and his last position was Manager with largest financial institution. Daljit is married and lives with his wife in Ottawa, Ontario. Together they have two sons, both of whom are also lawyers and have been called to the bar of Ontario.
